Master of Accountancy (MAcc): ��ɫ��Ƶ, Greater Cincinnati Region

Four different tracks to choose from.

Regardless of your life situation, our Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program is designed to challenge and polish your ability to interpret and analyze financial information, to become trusted advisers to companies and clients, to monitor finances and to chart courses for the future. Our graduate accounting coursework is geared toward your success upon graduation and complements the materials used to pass the CPA exam.

Accounting Practice & Reporting Track (APRT): a 36-credit hour program designed for students without an undergraduate degree in accounting.

Data Analytics/Data Visualization Track: a 30-credit hour program comprised of 21 hours of required courses and nine hours of data analytics courses.

Expedited Track: a 30-credit hour program designed for current ��ɫ��Ƶ undergraduate students majoring in accounting.

Professional Track: a 30-credit hour program comprised of 24 hours of required courses and six hours of directed electives.

Online Programs Available

The MAcc Program at ��ɫ��Ƶ provides students with the tools they need to succeed in the field. Courses are taught by faculty with real-world experience who strive to challenge the way you think not only about the class content, but about the profession as a whole. Students are encouraged to dream big, and they build the skills to achieve them throughout their time in the program.

Curriculum

With four different tracks to choice from, our MAcc program prepares graduates for an exciting career in the world of accounting and to pass the CPA exam. We’ve partnered with Becker Professional Education to integrate their CPA Exam Review materials into our curriculum. This partnership gives students a discount when purchasing review materials as well as the opportunity to earn graduate credits while studying and preparing for the CPA.

Becker materials for the CPA Exam Prep courses are not included in the overall tuition. NKU MAcc students receive a significant discount compared to traditional market prices (over $1,000 in savings) for the Becker materials.

ACCOUNTING PRACTICE & REPORTING TRACK

36 CREDIT HOURS

Designed for those who do not have an undergraduate accounting degree, but have an undergraduate degree in another field.

Applicants may be accepted into the Expedited Track if they are NKU undergraduate BSBA students and may complete the program within one year after earning their BSBA degree. Students enrolled in the Expedited MAcc concentration can earn both a BSBA and a MAcc degree in a five-year period.

Admission Requirements

Our admissions process is designed to be highly selective. Applicants should assemble the strongest mix of elements below to comprise their application package. No GMAT required.

APRT, Data Analytics/Visualization, and/or Professional Track Requirements

Online application and fee.
Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) coursework. Acceptable transcripts should show evidence of successful completion of quantitative courses.*
Current resume.
A statement of purpose explaining your interest in a MAcc degree.
If an international applicant, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) scores must be submitted to the NKU Office for International Students and Scholar Services.
- TOEFL scores must meet a minimum score of 550 on the paper version, 213 of the computer-based version, or 79 on the internet based (iBT) version
- IETLTS scores must met a 6.5 on the general band portion
- Duolingo composite score of 105 will also be accepted

* Students are required to take the GMAT or GRE if their transcripts do not show evidence of successful completion of quantitative courses. Although scores make up only one factor in the admissions process, it is anticipated that successful applicants will have a minimum overall score of 520 on the GMAT (comparable GRE scores will
also be considered).

MAcc Expedited Track Requirements

To enter the Expedited MAcc concentration, undergraduate BSBA students at ��ɫ��Ƶ who have completed ACC 200 may be invited to apply. Students applying to the MAcc 4+1 Track must submit the following:

Statement of purpose
Current resume
Transcript with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher with at least 15 credit hours completed at ��ɫ��Ƶ

GMAT and application fee are waived for Expedited MAcc candidates.

Scholarships

The Haile Foundation has generously agreed to provide scholarships for deserving MAcc students. The stipulations for the scholarships are listed below along with application specifics. A call for scholarship applications will go out to those qualified. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition and/or books.

Non-continuing scholarships are awarded each year; individual amounts are determined by the MAcc Scholarship Committee.

Application must include a letter addressing:
- The importance of this award to the applicant’s continuing education
- The financial situation that warrants consideration
- Career goals and how the MAcc will assist in attaining these goals
